Established on November 10, 1775, the United States Marine Corps celebrates its 248th birthday today. The Marine Corps’ resilience in the face of adversity and commitment to protecting freedom have earned them a place of honor in the records of military history.
November 11th marks Veterans Day, a day dedicated to honoring all military veterans for their service and sacrifice. Originally known as Armistice Day, it commemorated the end of World War I on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. In 1954, the name was changed to Veterans Day to honor all veterans of all wars.
