Christopher Williams, Attorney at Law

Chris is the firm’s in-house authority on appellate practice and procedure. Having served with distinction for Judge James E. Thomas of the Mississippi Court of Appeals, Attorney Williams is an expert on the appellate process and has practical experience with drafting legal opinions and briefs. He was one of the first attorneys to argue a case before the Mississippi Supreme Court that was broadcasted live on the Mississippi Supreme Court Website.

In addition, Mr. Williams was on the trial team that received a jury verdict of $4,691,000 in Hinds County Circuit Court against a regional hospital for the wrongful death of a twenty-nine year old attorney, Ellen Kelly. Mrs. Kelly suffered an anaphylactic reaction to latex which triggered respiratory arrest and eventual death after being exposed to latex during surgery. The verdict was appealed and upheld in its entirety by the Mississippi Court of Appeals. Mr. Williams was one of the principal authors of the briefs filed in support of the verdict.

Chris Williams graduated with honors from the University of South Alabama in 1993, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a minor in history. Receiving an academic scholarship, he attended the Mississippi College School of Law, completing the requirements for his Juris Doctorate in 1997 and later admitted to the Mississippi Bar Association in 1997.

Mr. Williams is married to the former Amanda Fairbank of Gulfport, Mississippi. They have one child, Lockard.The Williams are members of St. Francis Catholic Church in Madison, Mississippi. Outside of work, Mr. Williams enjoys spending time with his family, reading and fishing.
