Tripp Segars, Attorney at Law

Tripp has been practicing law for thirteen years and takes pride in helping others obtain justice in cases against powerful corporations. Civil justice is important , and Tripp believes in his clients’ rights to tell their side of the story. In his first case, he helped a family in their pursuit of justice, and the jury awarded nearly $4.7 million.

Mr. Segars practices primarily in personal injury, mass tort, pharmaceutical drug and products liability litigation. He currently represents clients injured as a result of Camp Lejeune water contamination, women who developed cancer after using talcum powder products, and premature infants who developed necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) after being given cow’s milk-based formula (Similac and Enfamil). Mr. Segars has participated in a number of multi-district litigations around the country and has served in leadership roles, including serving on a Plaintiffs Steering Committee. Tripp’s practice also includes big truck or 18-wheeler collisions, car accidents, motorcycle crashes and boating incidents.

Mr. Segars originally is from South Carolina and graduated from Clemson University. Before joining the Diaz Law Firm, he earned his law degree from Mississippi College, where he interned for the Honorable Jess H. Dickinson of the Mississippi Supreme Court and traveled to Wyoming as an intern for the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College.

In addition to his work at the Diaz Law Firm, Mr. Segars remains active in both his local community and the legal community. He is a past president of the Phoenix Club of Jackson, an association benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi, and the Magnolia Clemson Club. Mr. Segars has been a guest attorney on WLBT’s LawCall, a live television program where attorneys assist callers with legal questions, and he is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Mississippi Association for Justice, where he serves as President-Elect and sits on the Legislative Committee.

Mr. Segars and his wife, Ashley, live in Madison with their dog, Maggie, and they recently welcomed their first child, Charlotte. When not at the office or with his family, Tripp enjoys playing golf and tennis.
